Pearl 2001 Export Series Reviews 5

I bought this at my local store "Gear Music" Because I'm only 15 years old, there is a lack of money, so my mother had to front me the money. I was told from friends this was a very worthwhile purchase and I bought it for $999.99 (CDN.)

First off, I was surprised at the strength of the hardware (including the pedal) I play hard music like Deftones and I was afraid I would have to buy all new hardware, but its been 5 months and there hasn't been any noticible damage. I also liked the incredible deal Pearl was offering, the extra 10" rack tom for only $100 (CDN.) Another one of the many reasons why I purchased this set. I like how easy it is to set the pedal to my stregth, it is very easy.

The toms are fairly difficult to tune, so I think. Also, on the topic of toms, I DESPISE the fact they gave me a 10" a 12" and 13" rack toms. That sounds very odd when playing fills...That also makes it harder to tune.

I was given: 20" bass drum, 12", 13" and 10"(extra $100 CDN.) rack toms, 16" floor tom, matching wood 14"x 5.5" snare drum. Throne, single pedal, hi-hat stand, cymbal stand.

A great set! It sounds phenomonal! I recommend it to anyone who has a low budget and wants a great sounding set. You get a lot more than what you pay for! The people at Pearl have outdone themselves this time! Despite the lack of a 14" floor tom!
